You just described 90% of the podcast industry. The sponsorship tax is real and the audience is paying it in trust.
The trust-tax framing is the right framing. Audiences notice. Slowly, but they notice.
I cut sponsorships from my newsletter at 60k subs and revenue went UP within a month from a single product launch. The CPM model is a trap.
Disagree. $20 CPM at 100k impressions is $2k. Multiply by four sponsors and four episodes a month. That's a real income for a solo operator.
